How We Can Help
Mediator
In this role the mediator is a neutral third party trained to facilitate discussion between disputing parties. The mediation process is designed to encourage the parties to create their own unique
mutually-beneficial solutions to the problem. A mediator does not give legal advice or marriage counselling and does not impose decisions upon the parties. Through the mediation process, the needs and interests of both parties are explored and various options for
resolving the problems are evaluated and agreed upon. All agreed terms are subsequently written up as a contractual agreement, which once signed by both parties, is a legally binding document.
Mediation Advocate
In this role the advocate acts for one party offering support and advice and speaking on behalf of that party if and when required during mediation. The mediation advocate ensures that their party understands
any proposals made and helps their client evaluate the long-term ramifications of agreeing to any terms. The advocate also offers advice and emotional support, as well as actively advocating for their party to ensure that they receive the best possible outcome. The advocate is familiar
with the mediation process and can help the party to objectively evaluate the terms of an agreement.
Negotiator
A negotiator actively negotiates a commercial or employment agreement on behalf of their client, usually in the absence of the client. Prior to the negotiation, the negotiator holds an in depth discussion with
their client and discusses the full range of desired outcomes. The negotiator then strenuously negotiates with the other party to achieve the optimal result.
Barrister/Employment Lawyer
As Barrister/employment lawyer, all court documents are prepared and filed on behalf of the applicant/respondent or plaintiff/defendant. Appearances are subsequently made in the relevant civil,
employment or family jurisdiction.
